Buenavista Vans is a campervan rental brand operated by NewForest SL B10699627 based on Tenerife, Spain. Our tax recidence is Calle Llanos del Porís, 58, puerta 26, Residencial Chari, 38588, Arico, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Our main Ofice is in Calle Llanos del Porís, 58, puerta 26, Residencial Chari, 38588, Santa CRuz de Tenerife.
1. Definition of Terms and Conditions
‘I,’ ’me’ and ‘my’ jointly refers to the person or persons who are the customers. This ‘Agreement’ means the Rental Agreement, the Insurance Agreement and these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions take prevalence over any other Buenavista Vans literature. “Buenavista Vans” is represented by NewForest SL, located in Calle Llanos del Porís, 58, puerta 26, Residencial Chari, 38588, Arico (Tenerife).
‘Customer’ means the person or persons nominated as the hirer on the Rental Agreement. ‘Living Equipment’ includes but is not limited to crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pillows, sheets, duvet, solar shower, deck chairs and Extras/Additional Hire Items. ‘Rental Period’ means the time that the camper is in the hirers’ possession and control.
‘Camper van’ or ‘Vehicle’ refers to the vehicle described on the Rental Agreement and includes ; tyres, tools, accessories, living equipment and any other replacement or substitute vehicle, which may be provided from Buenavista Vans.
2. The Pick Up and Drop Off
When taking over the vehicle, I must sign a handover protocol in which the condition of the vehicle and accessories, and any defects, are to be recorded. By signing the handover protocol, the user acknowledges Buenavista Vans’ General Terms and Conditions. The vehicle will be handed over and returned at the agreed handover station in El Porís de Abona, Tenerife. The pick up and drop off times entered in the usage contract and handover protocol must be observed.
I acknowledge having received the camper van in a clean condition and sound working order in accordance with the departure checklist. The fuel will be full on departure. I will return the vehicle in a similar clean condition, with sand and dust swept out and the surfaces and sink wiped clean. The exterior should also be washed. If I don’t return it clean (inside and outside), I will pay 50 € cleaning fee. The fuel tank must be returned full, on the return date and time agreed upon in the Rental Agreement. I agree that if the vehicle is returned without a full tank I will pay the cost of refueling and an additional service cost of 15 €. I will return any additional hire items in a similar clean condition on the return date. I agree to pay for any damages or losses to the additional hire items incurred during my rental period.
I acknowledge that Buenavista Vans will not refund to me any money nor have any obligation to provide alternative accommodation if the vehicle is returned earlier except for breakdown not caused by improper use.
I agree to treat the camper van with care and to return it with undamaged interior (according to the protocol, any damage already existing at the time of takeover shall be disregarded). Buenavista Vans is not obligated to keep objects that I leave in the vehicle upon return. All vehicles are non-smoking vehicles: smoking is not allowed. Animals are not allowed either.
I make sure I have time enough to arrive back to the airport to catch my departure flight and accept that Buenavista Vans will not be responsible for missed flights costs for what ever reason. I agree that if I am more than an hour late on my agreed return time, I will be liable for an additional cost hire of 25€ per hour. I agree that if I do not inform Buenavista Vans of an unexpected delay in my arrival time, I will pay an additional 50 € fee for the stuff waiting.
I agree for Buenavista Vans to check over the camper van in my absence and inform me of any damages or charges. If there are any damages, I agree to charge the amount from my security deposit.
I understand that the campers are available for pick up from 14:00 pm and that I must return the camper by 12:00 am on the day my hire contract ends.
3. Booking
I pay Buenavista Vans 50% of the rental price at the time of booking to confirm the reservation. This amount must be paid on the booking for electronic payments (Paypal, Credit, etc). In case of bank transfer Buenavista Vans must receive the payment maximum 48 hours after the booking. I agree to make payments via credit card, bank transfer or PayPal. The remaining 50% has to be paid 7 days before of the arrival or on arrival (via cash). If I book a camper van in Tenerife less then 7 days in advance, I will directly pay the full amount before the arrival.
4. Cancellations and date changes
Buenavista Vans will change the dates of my booking free of charge within the 24h after the booking (if there is availavility), after this hours, if I want to change the booking to another dates I will pay a 30€ fee.
I acknowledge that: If I cancel my booking with more than one months notice, I will receive 80% of the price of the booking. If I cancel my booking with Buenavista Vans with less than 4 weeks before my arrivalI I will receive no refund on the 50% paid booking price.
If I wish to bring back the campervan earlier than my stated return date I shall receive no refund of the left days. If the camper van I am hiring is damaged by a previous customer or for unforeseen circumstances is unavailable, Buenavista Vans will provide a replacement, if possible. If there are no camper vans available I will get an accommodation instead. Should this occur Buenavista Vans will not be liable for any costs incurred relating to flight bookings and any other costs. I have been advised to take out travel insurance for this purpose.
We adapted our cancellation policy to provide enhanced support during these uncertain Covid-pandemic times:
If your flight gets cancelled or you decide not to fly to Tenerife more than 48 hours before your booking, we’ll reschedule your dates for another time that suits you and is available. We give you a voucher for reschedule your booking. This voucher must be used within 1 year.
5. Security Deposit
I agree to pay a security deposit of 600 € by transfer or on arrival in cash or Paypal. The deposit must be paid by named driver on the booking.
I understand that without this security deposit the rental will be cancelled without refund. If this occurs, Buenavista Vans will not be responsible for providing alternative vehicle or accommodation or any other costs.
I understand that the deposit will be returned to me at the end of my hire period after inspection of the camper van, if Buenavista Vans find the camper van in the same condition as it was when I collected it, with the interior and exterior clean, and full fuel tank.
I agree to be charged 50 € cleaning fee if the van is returned dirty on the inside or outside.
I will return the camper van with a full tank of fuel. If I return the camper van without filling the fuel I agree to pay a 15 € refueling fee on top of the actual fuel costs.
I accept that any costs incurred by Buenavista Vans will be debited from my security deposit.
I am responsible for any fines during the period of my rental and I will pay them.
I agree to reimburse Buenavista Vans in full any sums due, if my security deposit is not sufficient to cover all the costs of any damage or other costs set out in these terms and conditions.
6. Costs Incurred during the Rental Period
I will pay all parking fines, road traffic fines or penalties. I agree to pay all third party damage costs not reported by me on return of the vehicle and associated administration costs incurred in relation to the vehicle during the rental period. I will pay Buenavista Vans any other fees or charges pursuant to this Agreement. This includes any costs incurred by Buenavista Vans as a result of any breach by me of the terms of this Agreement.
I agree to be liable for a daily rental charge for the time the vehicle is off road for repairs due to any accident or damage or any breach by me of the terms in this Agreement.
Buenavista vans will charge for any additional costs, fees or damages incurred during the rental period which are not declared on return of the camper van.
7. Insurance
I must have a full UK or EU driving license and be over 23 years old and at least 2 years of valid car driving license. I will let Buenavista Vans check I have a valid driving licence and my age. Buenavista Vans will make a digital copy of both, driving license and ID card or passport.
I acknowledge that I will be fully liable for all damage to the camper/third parties if I breach any of the terms of this agreement. I agree that Buenavista Vans will retain my security deposit. If the damage is higher than the deposit, I will pay the amount over that.
I acknowledge that the insurance does not diminish my responsibility for tyre, undercarriage damage or any damage what so ever to internal fixtures, fittings, additional hire items, lost keys, living equipment and the camper van itself.
I will be liable for the cost of replacing windows should the camper van be broken into. I will be liable for the cost of replacing locks and any damage should the camper van be broken into or vandalized. I will be liable for any damages occurred in public car parks. I will be liable for all damage that has occurred as a result of using the vehicle off tarmac roads. I acknowledge that only the person(s) named in the Rental Agreement will be insured to drive.
I warrant that I have no physical disabilities, which would impair my driving, and that I am not on any serious medication or under instruction not to drive by a doctor. I accept that my personal effects are not covered by Buenavista vans insurance and that I have been advised to take out my own travel insurance.
What is covered by the insurance:
– All the drivers over 23 and 2 years of experience.
– All the people when driving up to the max capacity of each campervan (4 in the case of all our campervans now)
– Any third party damage
– Lawyer assistance
– Civil liability of the insured up to 50.000.000,00€
– Windows and windcreen when not vandalized
– 24h on road assistance
What is NOT covered by the insurance:
– The campervan furniture and camping equipment
– Vandalized or deliberated damages
– Replacing keys, which have been lost, stolen or locked inside the vehicle
– Fires
– Damage to the own campervan
8. Use of the Camper
I agree that during the rental period I will not or will not allow the camper to be:
- Driven otherwise than in a cautious, prudent and normal manner.
- Driven over 90km/h in any situation.
- Driven whilst aware of mechanic fault.
- Driven other than on a paved public highway, private road or driveway for example on the beach or off road.
- Driven by a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Left unlocked whilst unattended or with the ignition key inside whilst unattended.
- Used for any hire or reward, race, rally or contest.
- Used for any commercial event, advertising, promotion, photography without prior consent from Buenavista Vans.
- Used to tow any vehicle or trailer.
- Driven by a person not named in the Rental Agreement.
- Damaged by submersion in salt water or contact with salt water.
- Driven outside of Tenerife.
- Used for cooking without appropriate ventilation.
9. Maintenance
I agree to inform Buenavista Vans in the unlikely event of mechanical breakdown prior to seeking the advice of a garage.
I agree I will be liable for the cost incurred by the incorrect use of fuel.
I will be liable for the cost of any tyre damage or punctures. I will be liable for any costs due to sending out technicians due to user error.
I will arrange for the tyre to be either repaired or replaced as soon as possible after consulting Buenavista Vans.
If the camper van is returned with a damaged tyre I accept it will be at Buenavista Vans discretion whether to replace or repair the tyre.
I will be liable for the cost of replacing keys, which have been lost, stolen or locked inside the vehicle.
I will not authorise repairs, maintenance without consulting Buenavista Vans first.
I will be responsible for the cost of replacing the windscreen and any other windows in the vehicle.
I will be liable for the cost of any damage due to driving on a non tarmac road.
I will be liable for any cost due to recovery of the vehicle if used on sand or unsuitable terrain.
I allow Buenavista Vans to check the rented van at any time.
10. Breakdown
In the unlikely event of a breakdown I agree to: Contact Buenavista Vans immediately to explain the problem.
Act according to the advice given by Buenavista Vans, either awaiting assistance from Buenavista Vans or using the breakdown cover provided (24h number for road assistance: +34 662 992 060).
I shall not drive the vehicle with a known fault unless advised to by Buenavista Vans.
I will be responsible for the cost of any repairs incurred resulting from reckless, negligent or imprudent use of the vehicle by myself or allowed by myself, or from breach of any term of these agreement.
I acknowledge that if a repair cannot be completed within 24 hours and is not the result of reckless, negligent or imprudent use by myself or permitted by myself, Buenavista Vans will provide a replacement camper if one is available. If any campervan is available Buenavista Vans will arrange suitable alternative accommodation. Or a refund of remaining whole days.
11. Responsibility if accident occurs
In the event of any accident, loss or damage arising out of the use of the vehicle I will notify Buenavista Vans immediately. I will call the police (112) to the scene of the accident to validate the insurance.
I will complete a European Accident Report Form as supplied. I will obtain names, addresses of third parties and any witnesses. I will not accept blame or insist the other party is at fault, accept any settlement offer or other offer.
I will, if possible, photograph damage to all vehicles involved and note the plate numbers. I agree to assist Buenavista Vans in handling any claim arising from any event, including providing all relevant information and attending court to give evidence at my own cost. I accept that Buenavista Vans will at their own discretion make every effort to supply a replacement vehicle or suitable accommodation arrangements depending on how much of the holiday remains and who was at fault. I accept that Buenavista Vans will endeavour to ensure any money due back is forwarded as soon as possible and understand that third party claims can take a while to resolve.
I will cover with my deposit all costs and accident damages that are not covered under the rental insurance. I will also pay any cost amount if the deposit is not enough to cover the costs or accident damages.

13. Terminating the Agreement
